5 Questions Aspiring Franchise Owners Should Ask (And the Answers)

By Kim Nunez

Every year, the International Franchise Expo (IFE) brings together thousands of aspiring franchisees in New York City. It is a great opportunity for individuals to connect with franchisors, like Primrose Schools, to learn more about how to become a franchise owner.

In my experience at IFE and other trade shows, a few questions consistently come up among those considering opening a franchise: how do I know this is the best franchise opportunity for me? Why should I choose Primrose? How will your team help me succeed? These are important question – in fact, there are five questions every person considering franchising, particularly with Primrose Schools, should ask.

Will opening a franchise work for me?

If you find the right opportunity, opening a franchise can be one of the best investments you can make. Franchises offer a wide range of benefits, from the ability to leverage the strength of a brand name to offering greater stability and less personal risk for owners. Franchises also offer training, operational and marketing support programs to help franchisees succeed.

What should I look for in a franchise opportunity to know it’s right for me?

Before evaluating franchise opportunities, identify your personal goals for opening your own business. Are you aspiring to make a difference in the lives of others? Are you seeking greater flexibility in your schedule? Then, consider how different franchise opportunities align with your personal goals and passions. Also carefully evaluate each company’s brand reputation and financial stability, as well as its commitment to helping franchisees succeed and grow.

I’m interested in early education franchising – but how exactly does it work?

Demand for high-quality, early education and care has never been higher in the United States, and as a result, the education-based child care franchise industry is growing quickly. According to IBISWorld, it’s a $48 billion per year industry that is expected to grow at an even faster pace than the overall child care market. Franchising companies are ideally positioned to address the growing need for early education and care, and no company more so than Primrose Schools. We equip and support our Franchise Owners with everything they need to thrive and grow, starting with our exclusive, time-tested Balanced Learning® approach.

What sets Primrose apart from other early education franchising opportunities?

Through our time-tested Balanced Learning approach, Primrose provides Franchise Owners with a comprehensive curriculum; classroom equipment, materials, books and toys; teacher training, child assessment; and a school-to-home connection. This comprehensive roadmap allows Franchise Owners and staff to do what they do best: help children develop and learn while growing their school.

My background isn’t in early education. Can I still open a Primrose school?

Absolutely. Primrose Schools Franchise Owners share a passion for education, but they come from diverse backgrounds, ranging from health care to hospitality. Many do not have experience in the education industry – and they don’t need to! Primrose provides new Franchise Owners with the tools and resources they need to become strong leaders in their schools and communities. This includes in-depth training prior to the opening of their school and ongoing guidance from Primrose Business, Education and Marketing Consultants once their schools are open.

If you’re interested in pursuing an early education and care franchise, our Primrose Franchise Development team would love to discuss these questions and any others you may have. From June 15-17, visit us at booth #923 at IFE in New York City. Not attending the expo?
